Headed for Heaven?

Someone I knew died recently. This person was on my heart to share the gospel with for some time. I was nudged to go see them when they were in the hospital.  I didn't have anything special to say, but just a willingness to go show my love to them.  In the conversation I was nudged to share this video  with them. They blurted out at the end of it: "I believe all of that."

I then shared that the most sobering words in the bible to me were from Jesus when He said: “But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

That is when I believe the realization of needing forgiveness and a Savior hit them. I asked: "What do you need to apologize to God for?"

This person died two weeks later.  When I realized things were taking a turn for the worst and we had days left I cried and begged the Lord for another opportunity to go back to talk again. I wasn't given another opportunity.  They died two days later. God in His mercy made sure to have them hear the truth and offer of His gift of salvation. I can only hope in those two weeks when alone with the Lord they asked God's forgiveness.

You don't know when you will take your last breath. Please get right with the Lord today because tomorrow isn't promised and by then it may be too late.

If you are a Christian reading this, please listen when the Lord prompts. You may be the last person that God leads to someone's path to lead them to Christ. Had I not obeyed the prompts to go two weeks earlier, I was hit with the sobering reality I would be held accountable on Judgement Day for quenching His Spirit since we are His only hands, feet and mouthpiece.

The million dollar question...

THE MILLION-DOLLAR QUESTION: Will you go to Heaven when you die? Have you lied, stolen, used God’s name in vain, or lusted (which Jesus said was adultery, Mt. 5:28)? If so, God sees you as a liar, thief, blasphemer, and adulterer at heart. If you die in your sins, you will end up in a terrible place called Hell. But there’s good news. Though we broke God’s Law, Jesus paid the fine by dying on the cross: “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (Jn. 3:16). Then Jesus rose from the dead and was seen by hundreds (it’s no fairytale). He fulfilled all the prophecies of the promised Savior. Please, today, repent and trust Jesus, and God will forgive you and grant you the gift of eternal life (Eph. 2:8,9). Then, to show your gratitude, read the Bible daily and obey it, join a Christian church, and be baptized. Visit NeedGod.com and LivingWaters.com.
